Create is an open innovation ecosystem, which welcomes all interested partners regardless of the size and field of industry. Create is mainly directed for companies, but also individuals can enquire possibilities to participate.
How create operates
Eligible partners for the ecosystem
The aim of crEATe ecosystem is to develop new solutions related to the three selected impact areas. These developments take place in projects in which different ecosystem participants can join. In addition, crEATe ecosystem initiates different thematic events to stimulate and promote discussions and collaboration between the ecosystem participants. The aim of these events is to enable participants who are interested in common topics to network and form projects.
The projects based on crEATe activities are administratively separated from the ecosystem and take independent actions. Dissemination of the project results is encouraged within the ecosystem and beyond, but not required.
Roles of different actors in the ecosystem and projects
VTT, Fazer and IBM act as orchestrators of the ecosystem and are responsible for the ecosystem administration. These tasks include arranging different ecosystem activities for ecosystem participants and facilitating collaboration between ecosystem participants.
VTT, Fazer and IBM administer the research restaurant TestEat. This includes approval of the projects, methodological review of project plans, scheduling of the projects and training the restaurant staff together with project personnel.
Ecosystem partners can form projects independently with other partners. Project partners can be other crEATe partners or external ones. VTT, Fazer or IBM do not necessarily need to be partners in projects facilitated by crEATe ecosystem.
Some rules for the ecosystem
crEATe aims at developing new solutions for the selected impact areas. Therefore, the ecosystem and ecosystem events are not sales events for participants unless otherwise agreed.
In certain ecosystem events, confidentiality might be required. In these cases, participants will be requested to fill in NDA before attending the event.
Fees and charges
There is no participation fee. Ecosystem participants will be responsible for their own costs related to the ecosystem activities. Ecosystem events will typically be free of charge for participants, but in specific events, fees may be charged on a cost recovery basis from the attendants.
